Veep Joins Hands with McDonald’s Vietnam to Share EEaaS Solutions with the Younger Generation

Veep Joins Hands with McDonald’s Vietnam to Share Energy-Saving Solutions (EEaaS) with the Younger Generation.

On January 18, 2025, at the McDonald’s Điện Biên Phủ branch in Ho Chi Minh City, Veep participated in a sharing session on Energy Efficiency and Optimization Solutions (EEaaS) for students of the AIS4EE Accelerator Program for Youth. The event attracted over 100 students from top universities, including Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Economics and Finance (HCMC), Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, University of Engineering and Technology (VNU Hanoi), and University of Economics and Law, reflecting the growing interest of young people in sustainable development.

Kicking off the event, Mr. Huỳnh Đức Hải (OM), representing McDonald’s Vietnam, emphasized the company’s commitment to achieving Net-Zero 2050. He shared: “Energy conservation is not only an environmental responsibility but also a crucial factor for sustainable business growth. McDonald’s is gradually realizing this goal through technological solutions and strategic partnerships.”

During Veep’s presentation, Mr. Nguyễn Bách Việt (CEO) provided an in-depth introduction to the Energy Efficiency as a Service (EEaaS) model—a solution that helps McDonald’s reduce 20-30% of its annual energy costs. “EEaaS requires no upfront investment from businesses, as costs are based on the actual energy savings achieved. This approach is well-suited for both large enterprises and small businesses in Vietnam,” Mr. Việt explained. This solution is currently being piloted at McDonald’s Điện Biên Phủ branch, integrating an intelligent monitoring system with energy optimization devices.

Following the presentation, students asked insightful questions about the practical applications of EEaaS. A student from Hanoi University of Science and Technology remarked: “I’m impressed by how Veep integrates AI into energy management.

This opens up new research opportunities for students in sustainable development.” Representatives from Veep and McDonald’s addressed each question, emphasizing the importance of training young talent in the energy sector.

At the end of the event, students had the opportunity to tour the energy-saving systems installed by Veep at McDonald’s. From smart LED lighting systems to HVAC temperature control technology, the showcased solutions provided a hands-on experience, helping attendees visualize real-world energy efficiency applications. The session concluded with a strong message on the power of multi-stakeholder collaboration in sustainable development. Mr. Nguyễn Bách Việt affirmed: “The younger generation holds the key to realizing the Net-Zero goal. Veep is ready to support young talents through research projects and specialized internship programs.” The event not only spread valuable knowledge but also fostered connections between businesses, students, and experts, laying the groundwork for future green initiatives.
